We can then begin to take registration for our first pilot study to develop an education program for mental health recovery. We can start speaking to groups, peers, professionals and churches about Pathways to HOPE group and what this involves.
scope of Work for Dove Support Ministry Inc.
Proposal to conduct and pilot three educational support groups called "Pathways to HOPE" using Pathways to Recovery: A Strengths Recovery Self-Help Workbook by Ridgway, P., McDiamid, D., Davidson, L., Bayes, J., & Ratzlaff, S. (2002). Each support group shall have 6 to 15 participants and shall meet for at least 8 weeks. The main goal of the "Pathways to HOPE" program will be to enable mental health and addiction consumers to find hope by discovering their strengths, increasing self-esteem, and reducing self-stigma. Participants will increase their self-care skills, identify eight life domains, identify a personal support system and practice sharing their recovery story with the group.
Our First group will begin on August 19, 2014 and run 8 weeks to October 7, 2014. We will have another group beginning October 21, 2014 through December 16, 2014 and take a break on November 25th for thanksgiving week. Our final group will be Feb through march 2015.
Participants are a vital part of this program development. Their input and evaluations will be used to refine the final program used in our final group. What a great opportunity to be at the ground level to help build up a program using your strengths and life experiences.
